Most organisations start with a logo and work backwards. That is why so many marks say nothing. This starts where it should: who you are speaking to, what you are saying, and how you want to sound — then the wordmark, the colours and a brief a designer can draw from.

⚖️ Before a mark is adopted

In many African jurisdictions a party symbol must be registered with the national electoral commission, must not resemble another registered party's mark, and may not incorporate the national flag, coat of arms or other state emblems. Rules differ by country and are applied strictly at nomination. Check any proposed mark against your commission's register, and against the marks of the parties you compete with, before it appears on anything.

The ADAFP AI Ethics Charter sets out the rules this platform works to. The live compliance status page records which of those commitments are met, which are partly met, and which are still open — including the ones that make this platform look worse.

How the platform actually works — which AI systems are used, where each one runs, what happens to the text you type, which tools retrieve real sources and which only generate text, and what these tools cannot do — is set out on the methodology page.

We publish the gaps because a claim that can be checked is the only kind worth making. If you think an entry is wrong — including one marked as met — write to office@adafp.org.

✉️ Corrections and complaints

If anything produced here is wrong — including if you are its subject — tell us. Challenges receive a substantive reply within fourteen days. Corrections are made in place and logged publicly, with the date and the nature of the change. We do not delete quietly.

🔒 Privacy notice

Who is responsible. ADAFP is the data controller for this platform.

What happens to what you type. Text you enter into these tools is sent to third-party AI providers to generate a response. Do not enter anything confidential, and do not enter personal information about other people that you are not entitled to share.

What is stored, and where. Documents and concepts you choose to save are stored on this server and are readable by other users of the platform — this is a shared workspace, not private storage. Unsaved drafts are held in your own browser on your own device and are not sent anywhere until you save them. The web server keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.

What is not collected. No account is required, no advertising or analytics trackers are used, and no profile of you is built.

Your rights. To ask what is held about you, to have something corrected, or to have something removed, use the corrections route above.

ADAFP is in the process of registering in South Africa; the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) is the intended governing regime. The platform's servers are in the European Union, so the GDPR may apply in parallel. This notice will be updated once that position and the retention periods are settled with counsel.

⚠️ What this platform is, and what it is not

The ADAFP AI Laboratory is a working environment for ADAFP member organisations — research, drafting, translation, analysis and training. It is not a public verification service and it is not an independent assessor of anyone. Where its output is published, it is published under the name of the ADAFP body that takes responsibility for it.

Output is generated by AI. It can be wrong, it can be out of date, and it is not certified or legally reliable. Check the sources before relying on anything, and treat the tools as an aid to judgement rather than a substitute for it.

ADAFP is a political alliance. The same evidentiary standard is applied to every party and government, including ADAFP and its own member organisations, and ADAFP's positions are presented as positions rather than as independent factual assessment.
